Foodtrucks come in all sizes and designs. However, they all have one thing in common: good fire protection is both a must and a legal requirement.
The rules of thumb for fire protection of food trucks
- If you do not work with deep-frying fat or oil, a standard 6L foam fire extinguisher with BENOR label is sufficient. It is suitable for fire class A & B.
- If you do work with deep-frying fat or oil, a 6L foam-fat extinguisher with BENOR label is recommended. It is suitable for fire class A, B & F.
- Finally, a fire blanket can be useful so you don't have to use the fire extinguisher immediately.
- We do not recommend powder fire extinguishers in this case, because they cause more collateral damage and your food truck will have to be industrially cleaned.
